Halloween 2010

This year we decided to stay at home and trick or treat around our block. It was the first year since we have lived in Wylie that we have been home to do trick or treating. We got all of the kids ready and headed out at around six. Sean was a ninja, Kaylee a lady bug, and Rose a princess fairy. Last year at a Christmas gift exchange Clint ended up with a blow up witch costume from his brother and he thought now was as good a time as any to wear it. He looked SO funny! Our block apparently gets really in to Halloween because there were so many neat houses to trick or treat at. There was a graveyard house with an electric chair in the front yard and a dressed up "zombie" being electrocuted. There were scare crows on street corners propped up in giant mounds of hay. The kids absolute favorite house was our neighbors house at the end of our street. They had the entire tea party scene from Alice and Wonderland set up in their garage and they were all dress up like characters from the movie. This was a great Halloween and the kids ended up with way more treats than tricks.

Pumpkin Carving

Every year we get each of the kids a pumpkin to carve however they would like to. It has become a really neat family tradition. This year we felt that each pumpkin should represent each child so we decided to do a big one for Sean (Big brother), a medium for Kaylee, and a small one for Rose. All three of the kids enjoyed helping pull all of the guts out of the pumpkins this year and Sean was able to help us carve his. Sean chose a SCARY face, Kaylee chose a SILLY face (which fits her perfectly), and Rose.... well.... lets just say her pumpkin had a lot of character when we were finished. This is the greatest part of Halloween and we are hoping to have more detailed pumpkins each year as we get better at carving with the kids.

Halloween Parties for School

We had two Halloween parties two go to this week before all hallows eve on Sunday. The first Halloween party was at Sean's school and it was the highlight of our week. Both Kaylee and Rose always have a blast going to Bubba's school functions. Sean is the best big brother, he shares all of his snacks and drinks with both girls. This year they had Halloween Bingo and Sean let both of his little sister's help him put the candies on his Bingo sheet. At the end of the party everyone had a cupcake. Yummy!

The second one was at Kaylee's school where all of the kids in each class line up in their costumes and have a costume parade for all the parents to see. It truly is the cutest thing to watch all the kids all dressed up. This year Kaylee was a lady bug.

Home Coming Game

It is that time of the year again..... Home Coming Time! The Home Coming Football Game is by far the kids favorite game of the year. They have a blast listening to all of the sounds and seeing all of the sights that are involved in the High School's big night. This year I made both of the girls their own mums and next year we will make an arm band for Sean. The kids played non-stop and at the end of the night we all went down on the field to see Clint and the players and cheerleaders. It was so much fun!!
