Staff Developement for Wylie ISD

Today was staff developement for Wylie School District so that meant I got to spend the entire day with all 3 kids. As soon as it warmed up enough outside we headed to the giant park in Allen to play. They were having so much fun that they didn't want to leave. They were sliding, swinging, and rocking on the teeter totter.

After the park the kids wanted to have a picnic so we made one in the fort in the back yard. They spent the entire lunch laghing and having a good time.

We finished our fabulous day with a stroll around the neighborhood in the wagon.

It was a GREAT day off together!

Track Season

Football Season is OVER.... but... that just means that it is time for track. The first track meet of the season was on a Friday night and it was just Rose and I so we packed up and headed to the stadium. It was a beautiful day and I was excited to spend some girl time with just Rose.

As soon as we got to the stadium... Rose was so excited to see her daddy, she ran all the way across the field to get to him. She also got to spend some time with Coach Hunter, to whom she has become a good luck charm throughout the past two years.

Rose loves being a part of all of the action. She can run around everywhere, watch the runners from the fence line, and her absolute favorite... THE MATS!

She ended her evening in the shot put sand dune. One small red cup and a pit of sand became loads of entertainment for her.

Sunday, February 13, 2011

Since Valentines Day fell on a Monday this year and Clint has work and track practice and I have school all night we decided to celebrate on Sunday night. We all got dressed up and went out for a family dinner. We rarely take the kids to a sit down dinner so it was a lot of fun and a very special night for all 5 of us.

When we got home from our family dinner the kids all opened their special Valentines from Daddy and Mommy! Yay!!

Snow Storm in Texas 2011

At around four A.M. we woke up to the sound of ice hitting the windows and knew that the winter storm that was predicted to hit had finally come. The entire week was school free and work free due to the "arctic freeze" that hit Dallas and the surrounding areas. We started off our snow day with a few homemade donuts and were all excited to have the chance to spend the day together as a family.

Charlie and Linus enjoyed there breakfast together as they do every morning. Talk about total opposites attracting, we still do not understand how these two have become BFF's.

After breakfast we all put on our winter gear and headed outside to check it out. We started sledding down the neighbors driveway. There was a thick layer of snow on top of a thick layer of ice everywhere.

The scenery around our house was absolutely beautiful...it looked like a winter wonderland straight out of a Christmas movie.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we all spent time outside enjoying the snow and the company of all of the kids neighborhood friends. They all played in the snow together and hung out in Sean's room watching movies. Even Charlie came outside to play for a bit.

Saturday morning we all got up and got dressed to make a run to Home Depot. While we were there they had a kids workshop so we stopped in and helped the kids build wooden heart shelves.

We decided to go back to Wylie high school and get one last shot at sledding before the snow melted for good. It was sooo much fun!!! There were quite a few people there sledding as well and the kids were having such a great time that we stayed for most of the afternoon.

and of course wipe outs! :)
